About the Program
Historic Camden is constantly striving to uphold our mission statement: to protect, educate and celebrate Camden’s extraordinary Colonial and American Revolutionary War history. We are excited to explore new opportunities that help us to do so, and thus, we are happy to share with you our newest program designed with history in mind. Beginning in February, we will be hosting a brief lecture on the first Sunday of each month, which will continue through November. Each lecture will focus on a different topic and will not only provide a chance to learn about Camden’s vast history, but it will also serve as a key that opens the door for participants to explore docent opportunities! We do understand that there is much uncertainty in the world right now, so we will provide updates regarding the schedule as we learn more. Below you will find a list of the upcoming lecture dates and their topics, as well as dates and topics for the Second Saturday Living History Demonstrations. Each Saturday following our first Sunday lecture will provide further learning opportunities and the two programs coincide, allowing a more fulfilling experience. Each lecture and living history demonstration will have a guest speaker that has experience with the topic of focus. For those interested in learning more about becoming a docent, we will be glad to help so please feel free to inquire. Those who wish to attend in person are welcome, but please understand that seating will be limited due to social distancing guidelines. We hope that you will join us each month to learn about Camden’s storied history storied history, and to become part of our efforts to keep history not just alive, but thriving!
